As a visual artist, Melissa Arendt is in a constant state of creation, whether through painting, illustration or design.
In her work, she is often interested in portraying the visual variety of Earth’s occupants, environments and objects by assembling them together within her clustered art. She has always had a strong compulsion to force disparate visual elements together, thus creating a new whole. Ultimately, her work serves as a fragmented record of life on Earth, presenting assorted elements that make it such a fascinating, complex, absurd and cherished place.
Melissa is a California native and studied graphic design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
