Sacramento Comedy Spot, located in the MARRS Building, is Sacramento’s first comedy club to feature improv, stand-up, and sketch comedy shows, with performances six nights a week. It is also Northern California’s largest comedy school. The Comedy Spot is a program of Sacramento Comedy Foundation.
Sacramento Comedy Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation (47-3441374). In addition to operating Sacramento Comedy Spot, the foundation supports the local comedy community and partners with other local charities to help them raise money through comedy show fundraisers. The foundation operates a youth improv program that provides training for kids, giving them an opportunity to develop confidence and be creative in a safe and supportive environment. The foundation also creates comedy-related events, like the Sacramento Stand-Up Competition and Sacramento Comedy Festival, that draw comedians and comedy fans to Sacramento.
Sacramento Comedy Spot and Sacramento Comedy Foundation are committed to diversity, equality, and inclusion at all levels of our organization, at our events, on our stage, and throughout Sacramento. To further that cause, Sacramento Comedy Foundation offers scholarships for comedy classes at the Comedy Spot and for the youth program, awarded to those who have been historically underrepresented and for whom money is a barrier.
